As many school districts within Berks County have opted to begin the fall semester virtually, the YMCA of Reading and Berks County offers a solution for parents who are unable to stay home with their children. The Y recently unveiled their Youth Education Support (Y.E.S) program, which offers full-day care to students in grades K-6 attending virtual or hybrid schools.
Participants in the Y.E.S. Program will have dedicated time built into their daily schedule to complete schoolwork and attend virtual lessons with support from YMCA staff members. Participants will also take screen breaks throughout the day to engage in physical activity, fun, and games. During all parts of this program, both students and staff are encouraged to remain socially distant and are required to wear masks.
The Y.E.S. Program will be offered at the Reading YMCA, Sinking Spring Family YMCA, and the new Richmond Program Center in Fleetwood on weekdays. Part-time and full-time enrollment options are available. YMCA Financial Assistance is available at all three locations. ELRC Funding is accepted at the Reading and Fleetwood locations.
Enrollment for the Y.E.S. Program is now open. For additional information or to apply, please contact, Shelley Eppihimer at 610-378-4728 or via email at email@example.com.
