WE PLUNGE SO THAT THEY CAN PLAY

THE COOLEST FUNDRAISER AROUND

For thirteen years, the YMCA of Reading and Berks County has fearlessly taken on Blue Marsh Lake on St. Patrick’s Day weekend. Rain or shine, frozen lake or tepid water, we and hundreds of school groups, sports teams, businesses, and good samaritans have plunged into the lake in the middle of March. Why? For Y kids, that’s why.

WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?

At the Y, we never turn anybody away regardless of ability to pay, and we believe every child should have access to safe, accepting spaces to play, grow, and learn in. Since our first plunge in 2006, we have raised over $500,000 for our youth scholarship program. These funds make it possible for us to enroll children who otherwise would not be able to afford it into summer camp, before and after school programs, and youth sports programs as well as provide FREE memberships to middle school students.
